Required Education: University Degree - BSc Chemistry / Diploma in Analytical Chemistry
Required Experience: Minimum 5+ years in a QC / QA laboratory environment is essential
Required Work Standards:
- Must be able to work independently with minimial supervision
- Must be able to have a good interpretation of test specifications
- Must have skills adaptable to facilitate problem solving, decision making and prioritisation
- Must be able to maintain work accuracy and consistency to meet set objectives and adhere to strict deadlines
- Must be able to train junior staff members
- Must have full awareness of Health & Safety requirements
Required Skills:
Language Skills:
- Ability to read, analyse and interpret common scientific and technical data and journals
- Ability to respond to common enquiries or complaints from customers, regulatory agencies, or members of the business community
- Ability to write reports and articles that conform to prescribed styles and format
- Ability to effectively present information to management
Mathematical Skills:
- Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference and fundamentals of plane and solid geometry and trigonometry
- Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentage, ratios and proportions to practical situations
Reasoning Ability:
- Must have the ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts and draw valid conclusions
- Must be able to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstracts and concrete variables
