About the Role
We are seeking an experienced Business Development Account Manager to grow and manage relationships within substance use disorder, behavioral health, and treatment center networks.
This role is ideal for sales professionals who have directly sold products or services into substance abuse treatment facilities, addiction centers, or behavioral health networks, and are looking to expand their impact within the diagnostics space.
This is not transactional sales—Success is driven by trusted relationships, industry knowledge, compliance awareness, and long-term account management..
Ideal Background
We are specifically looking for candidates who:
- Have experience selling into substance abuse treatment centers, addiction facilities, or behavioral health networks
- Understand provider relationships, referral dynamics, and decision-making structures
- Come from a consultative or solutions-based sales environment
Preferred backgrounds include:
- Unique Pharmaceutical sales (especially behavioral health or addiction medicine environments selling unique drugs not typical offerings)
- Diagnostics or laboratory sales
- Business development within substance abuse treatment or recovery networks
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and manage relationships with substance abuse treatment centers, behavioral health providers, and recovery networks
- Act as a strategic partner, not just a vendor
- Educate clients on toxicology testing, workflows, and compliant practices
- Identify and drive growth opportunities within accounts
- Collaborate with internal teams to ensure seamless onboarding and service delivery
- Maintain CRM activity, account plans, and reporting
- Uphold the highest standards of ethics and compliance
Required Experience
- 2+ years of sales, business development, or account management experience
- Proven experience selling into substance abuse treatment facilities, addiction centers, or behavioral health networks
- Strong track record of building and managing long-term client relationships
- Understanding of healthcare compliance and ethical sales practices
