Director, Diagnostic Laboratory Sales – Dallas, TX or Remote
Overview
A high-growth, technology-enabled healthcare services organization is seeking a Director of Diagnostic Lab Sales to lead expansion within the laboratory market. This company delivers advanced solutions that improve financial performance and operational efficiency for healthcare providers through analytics, automation, and deep industry expertise.
This is a hands-on, quota-carrying leadership role focused on generating new business, building pipeline, and closing complex enterprise deals. The ideal candidate is a proven hunter with strong relationships across diagnostic, reference, and specialty laboratory environments.
Key Responsibilities
Drive $5M+ in annual new revenue generation
Build and manage a robust net-new pipeline, tracking funnel progression and conversion metrics
Execute a strategic territory plan, targeting diagnostic labs, reference labs, and key stakeholders
Lead end-to-end consultative sales cycles, from initial outreach through contract execution
Clearly articulate value propositions in collaboration with internal SMEs and executive leadership
Maintain accurate forecasting and reporting within CRM tools (e.g., Salesforce, HubSpot)
Partner cross-functionally with leadership, operations, and implementation teams
Qualifications
7–10+ years of B2B consultative sales experience in healthcare
Proven success selling into diagnostic labs, reference labs, or related healthcare organizations
Demonstrated ability to meet or exceed quota in enterprise sales environments
Experience navigating complex, multi-stakeholder deals with long sales cycles
Strong network of relationships within laboratory organizations and industry partners
Expertise in contracting, negotiations, and value-based selling
High level of financial and business acumen
Willingness to travel (~25–50%)
Preferred:
Experience selling RCM solutions, healthcare technology, or tech-enabled services
Understanding of lab revenue cycle workflows (billing, coding, payer dynamics, reimbursement models across molecular, pathology, toxicology, etc.)
Performance Metrics
Annual quota: $5M in new revenue
Average deal size: ~$400K+ ARR
Sales cycle: ~3–6 months
Pipeline mix: 80% outbound / 20% inbound
Primary focus: Net-new business development
Compensation
Base plus Commission
On-Target Earnings: ~$575K+
Uncapped commission structure with strong upside

Establishes credibility with executive stakeholders and becomes a trusted advisor
Drives measurable revenue growth within the laboratory vertical
Operates with urgency, ownership, and a strong results orientation
Work Environment
Remote-first (Dallas-based preferred, but not required)
Travel as needed for client meetings, conferences, and deal execution
