In this role, you will lead safe, efficient laboratory and office operations within a clinical research setting.
You will manage regulatory compliance, licences, and OHS programmes that protect people and enable impactful health research.
You will collaborate with researchers, clinicians and professional staff to solve complex infrastructure and safety challenges.
What you will deliver:
Lead day-to-day management of laboratories, office spaces and infrastructure at Bio21.
Obtain, administer and monitor all required licences, permits and certifications, ensuring laboratories meet OGTR and related standards.
Develop, implement and review local OHS procedures, risk assessments, inductions and training for staff, students and visitors.
Coordinate equipment procurement, contractor activity, maintenance, access control and waste management across diverse laboratory environments.
Provide expert advice, reporting and support to committees and stakeholders, driving continuous improvement in safety and compliance.
You may be a great fit if:
Hold undergraduate qualifications in a relevant scientific discipline, ideally combined with formal occupational health and safety training.
Bring extensive experience in scientific or medical laboratories, including coordinating personnel within complex, matrix environments.
Demonstrate strong knowledge of OHS legislation, laboratory regulations and standards, with a track record implementing practical solutions.
Offer proven experience working in PC2 facilities and applying OGTR physical containment and behavioural requirements.
Excel at planning workloads, managing competing deadlines and delivering outcomes in large, multi-stakeholder organisations or health settings.
Use advanced digital skills across Microsoft Office and database or records systems to manage documentation and reporting.
