Laboratory Manager - Onsite Position

We are currently seeking a Laboratory Manager for our Clinton, TN facility. This position will be onsite. The salary range for this position is $100K-$130K.

Job Purpose:

Manage quality control and color match teams and collaborate with other site functions to support customer satisfaction through exceeding turnaround and on-time delivery expectations. Support Techmer PM by continuously improving 1^st time quality and reducing nonconformance while maintaining a safe and positive work environment in a manner consistent with the mission, principles, and values of Techmer PM.

Key Responsibilities:

Safety

1. Develops a safety culture that prevents accidents and meets all safety targets
2. Ensures safety audits and safety training is completed in a timely manner
3. Ensures all employees are following all safety requirements

Staff Development / Training

1. Develops annual goals, completes performance reviews and other managerial tasks in a timely manner
2. Develops staff to ensure we meet our goals and provides best opportunities for personal growth
3. Documents employee performance issues and implements disciplinary actions
4. Participates in managerial tasks and projects

Color Match

1. Collaborate with Technical Service and Color Development to ensure developed formulations meet customer and operational requirements
2. Provides regular updates and informs sales and management of delays

Quality assurance

1. Support ISO certifications through developing documented processes, training lab personnel, and internal/external audit participation
2. Resolve assigned customer cases and audit findings. Develop corrective and preventive actions and verify resolutions
3. Develops methods to continuously improve 1^st time on-quality and reduce non-conformance at site
4. Maintains all equipment in laboratory in good working order and in-calibration

Budget control

1. Manges-budget by controlling overtime, supplies, and outside services

Core Competencies:

1. Excellent verbal and written communication skills
2. Understanding of polymer processing & colorant technologies
3. Understanding of quality assurance tools including root cause analysis, QMS, and ISO standards

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

1. Bachelor’s degree or more than 5 years’ experience in related fields
2. Has supervised employees for minimum of 2 years in quality or laboratory environment
