Medical Technologist

Responsibilities:

• Performs routine Laboratory testing.
• Obtains and prepares patient specimens.
• Performs diagnostic Laboratory tests and procedures on body fluids and other specimens using both manual and automated methods of analysis.
• Reviews, assesses, and interprets test results.
• Accurately reports results along with relevant information pertaining to the prevention, diagnosis, or treatment of disease.
• Assesses all preanalytical, analytical, and post-analytical variables of the testing process to assure the accuracy of the results reported.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor of Science degree in Medical Technology, Life Science, or equivalent
• Current registration or eligible for registration as a Medical Technologist (ASCP) or equivalent.
• Goo organization, problem-solving, communication, and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to evaluate test results and recognize abnormal or contradictory results.
• Ability to concentrate on fine detail with frequent interruptions.
