Medical Laboratory Technologist - Chemistry

5x8s rotation; 2:30 PM - 11:00 PM shift

Job Description

Under general supervision, the Medical Laboratory Technologist performs routine and complex analytic procedures on blood and/or other body fluids or specimens. This includes the use of laboratory instruments and information systems, as well as manual techniques. The technologist may also perform phlebotomy as needed.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine and complex analytic procedures on biological specimens.
• Utilize laboratory instruments and systems effectively.
• Conduct manual techniques as per established protocols.
• May perform phlebotomy as required.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• Completion of an Associate Degree Program in Medical Laboratory Technology or Laboratory Science.
• Certification from a recognized national certifying agency (ASCP or NCA).
• Minimum 2-3 years of previous experience in a similar role.
• Experience with Beckman Coulter equipment, with AU system experience preferred.
• Preferred experience with Sunquest LIS and laboratory automation.
