Overview:<\/b>
<\/div>
Join a dedicated team at the Central Alabama VA Health Care System (CAVHCS) as a Medical Technologist(MT)/Medical Laboratory Technicians (MLT). This role is ideal for professionals with broad clinical lab experience who are passionate about serving Veterans and delivering high -quality diagnostic services. This is a 1 year Contract with a 4 year option to extend.

Key Responsibilities:<\/b>
<\/p>

  • Perform testing across all major lab disciplines: Chemistry, Hematology, Blood Bank, Immunology, Urinalysis, and more.
    <\/li>
  • Operate and maintain laboratory instruments and equipment.
    <\/li>
  • Accurately document and report test results using LIS systems.
    <\/li>
  • Ensure compliance with VA, CLIA, and Joint Commission standards.
    <\/li>
  • Collaborate with physicians and clinical staff to support patient care.
    <\/li><\/ul>

    Requirements<\/h3>


    <\/p>

    • Bachelor’s degree in Medical Technology, Clinical Lab Science, or related field.
      <\/li>
    • Board certification as MT, MLT, MLS, or CLS by ASCP or AMT.
      <\/li>
    • Minimum 1 year of experience as a generalist in a clinical lab setting.
      <\/li>
    • Experience in Microbiology preferred.
      <\/li>
    • Must pass credentialing and background checks per VA standards.
      <\/li><\/ul>
