In this position, you will operate autonomously, evaluating the compliance of environmental laboratories with state and national accreditation standards, regulations, and guidelines. Your assessments will cover various matrices, including drinking water, non-potable water, and solid chemical materials. A solid understanding of both basic and advanced microbiology, along with a general knowledge of organics, metals, radiochemistry, and inorganic nonmetals, is crucial. Additionally, you may serve as a witness in legal or administrative hearings. You will conduct internal audits of the Laboratory Accreditation Program and will be responsible for reading, comprehending, and applying current regulations and guidelines, as well as suggesting modifications to enhance the environmental laboratory accreditation program.
