Job Description

Primary responsibilities:

  • Conduct the testing in accordance with ISO/BAM/Pharmacopeia/In-house methods.
  • Assist Senior Microbiologist / Supervisor to plan, organize, and control the day-to-day operation of the laboratory, to manage all the technical functions in accordance with ISO 17025.

Specific responsibilities:

  • Responsible for Microbiology Laboratory testing activities, such as performing testing on the bench.
  • Ensure that all equipment is qualified and maintained at scheduled intervals according to the SOP.
  • Report test failures to the Senior Microbiologist / Supervisor before proceeding further with the test.
  • Assist the Senior Microbiologist / Supervisor in the failure investigation as instructed.
  • Perform investigation and revert to the Supervisor / Technical Manager / Laboratory Manager ASAP.
  • Assist Senior Microbiologist / Supervisor to conduct/co-ordinate and evaluate laboratory investigation.
  • Make regular chemical and consumables inventory checks.
  • Minimize waste and spillages during operations.
  • Promote good housekeeping and a safe system of work.

Qualifications

  • Degree in Microbiology or related field
  • 1 year of quality assurance/management experience in food or pharmaceutical quality assurance activities will be an advantage
  • Experience in a food or pharmaceutical environment will be an advantage
