Job Description:
We are seeking a Public Health Microbiologist / Medical Laboratory Scientist to perform microbiology and molecular testing in a public health laboratory. The ideal candidate will have experience with bacterial culture, PCR, DNA extraction, and laboratory quality standards.
Responsibilities:
- Perform microbiology and molecular laboratory testing
- Identify disease-causing bacteria using PCR, culture, WGS, and other laboratory methods
- Analyze and report laboratory results
- Follow CLIA quality and safety guidelines
- Perform quality control and maintain laboratory documentation
- Support public health investigations and routine laboratory operations
Required Skills:
- Bachelor's degree in Microbiology, Medical Laboratory Science, Biology, or related field
- Experience in microbiology or molecular diagnostics laboratory
- Knowledge of PCR, bacterial culture, DNA extraction, or WGS
- Familiarity with CLIA regulations and laboratory quality practices
- Strong attention to detail and documentation skills
