We are seeking a highly motivated Senior Scientist with expertise in natural product chemistry to join our dynamic team in Potsdam. The ideal candidate has an open and curious mindset, thrives on exploring new ideas and pushing boundaries, and is excited to transform creativity into impactful product innovations.
What You Will Do:
- Manage projects and corresponding client communication
- Prepare project proposals, cost analyses, presentations, and detailed reports
- Collaborate closely with lab managers and business development to drive projects forward
- Organize and coordinate tasks within our natural product chemistry labs
- Generate and promote new product ideas based on natural product bioactives for internal R&D and/or external customer projects
Your profile
Who You Are:
- Ph.D. in Natural Product Chemistry, Food Chemistry, Food Technology, Pharmacy (Pharmaceutical Biology) or related fields
- Postdoctoral or industry experience is a plus
- Deep knowledge in natural product chemistry (plants, microbes) and analytical techniques (HPLC-MS, NMR)
- Experienced in isolating and elucidating structures of secondary metabolites from plants and microbial strains
- Additional skills in industrial extraction, formulation, food product development, or regulatory approval (EFSA, GRAS) are a plus
- Passionate about interdisciplinary fields as botany, medicinal/food chemistry, microbiology, molecular biology, or metabolomics
- Strong project management skills and leadership abilities with a structured and team-oriented approach
- Excellent communicator with business fluent English and at least basic German skills
