Job Title: Cytotechnologist (Cyto Tech) – Travel Assignment
Location: New York, NY
Duration: 26 Weeks
Shift: Day Shift | Monday–Friday | 7:00 AM – 3:00 PM (40 hours/week)

Position Overview

"Navitas Healthcare, LLC" is seeking a skilled Cytotechnologist for a 26-week assignment in a clinical laboratory setting. The ideal candidate will be responsible for examining cellular samples, identifying abnormalities, and supporting accurate diagnostic processes.

Key Responsibilities

• Analyze cytology specimens (gynecologic and non-gynecologic) for abnormalities
• Screen slides and identify atypical or malignant cells for pathologist review
• Prepare, stain, and process specimens according to laboratory standards
• Ensure accuracy, quality control, and compliance in all testing procedures
• Maintain detailed and accurate documentation of results
• Operate and maintain laboratory equipment
• Follow all regulatory, safety, and infection control protocols
• Collaborate with pathologists and lab team members
• Participate in quality assurance and process improvement initiatives
• Ensure proper specimen handling, labeling, and storage
• Maintain strict confidentiality and compliance with patient privacy standards

Qualifications

• Associate’s Degree (as per New York State Clinical Laboratory requirements)
• High School Diploma or GED
• Valid New York State Clinical Laboratory Technician License
• Cytotechnologist certification (preferred)
• Additional NYS licenses such as Histotechnician, Histotechnologist, Pathologist’s Assistant, or Clinical Laboratory Technologist (preferred)
• 1–2 years of relevant laboratory experience (preferred)
• Strong analytical skills and attention to detail
• Ability to work both independently and collaboratively
