Reporting to the Director of Laboratory Services, this position performs a cytologic evaluation of non-gynecological slide preparations in accordance with department policies and procedures for the presence of malignancy and/or other abnormal disease processes. The cytotechnologist is also responsible for assisting the pathologist/physician in thyroid fine needle aspiration adequacy, as well as rapid onsite evaluation from endobronchial ultrasound procedures. In addition, this position maintains diagnostic reports, quality assurance and procedure manual.

EDUCATION/TRAINING/ EXPERIENCE:
1. Experience in non-GYN screening.
2. Computer experience preferred.
3. Experience assisting with fine needle aspirations and rapid onsite evaluations.
CERTIFICATIONS/LICENSES:
1. Current California Cytotechnologist license required.
