Job Description

We are seeking a skilled and state licensed phlebotomist to join our healthcare team. This position involves working in a fast-paced environment where you will be responsible for performing blood collections on patients of all ages.

Responsibilities

• Perform venipunctures and capillary blood samples, including finger sticks and arterial blood gas (ABG) collections.
• Utilize various blood collection tubes including gray top, green top, light blue top, purple top, and red top tubes.
• Prioritize patient collections based on the urgency of requests (stat, timed, routine).
• Maintain aseptic techniques during collections, ensuring patient safety and comfort.
• Position patients appropriately for successful blood draw procedures.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• Minimum of 1 year of phlebotomy experience in a hospital setting.
• Must possess current state licensure for New York.
• Experience with EPIC charting system is required.
• Must be able to work effectively with a patient ratio of 1:3 during the night shift.
