Introduction

A Laboratory Technician is required for our Laboratory in Phoenix,Durban,KZN. The purpose of the position is to monitor and test the key quality parameters of products produced according to specifications using documented procedures and effectively report results out of specification where required. Assist with research and development of new products or existing products to customer specifications. Assist with administration of technical documents such as SDS, TDS, COA etc

Duties & Responsibilities

Responsibilities include but not limited to:

  • Assist with the testing and approval of production batches.
  • Assist with Laboratory trials and colour matchings.
  • Assist with stability studies.
  • Assist with the maintenance of master standards.
  • Assist with preparation and maintenance of safety and technical data sheets on all developed products according to statutory requirements.
  • Assist with annual calibrations of lab equipment.
  • Manage and maintain all housekeeping standards
  • Ensure and understand compliance and continuous improvement in the areas of Quality, Health and Safety and Environment
  • Undertake other duties and responsibilities as directed within scope and/or experience. 

Desired Experience & Qualification

  • Matric (Grade 12) with a National diploma in Science as Agricultural science and Technology, Biotechnology, Chemistry or similar.
  • 6 – 12 month’s laboratory experience
  • Excellent listening and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to set high goals/standards of performance for self
  • Excellent attention to detail
  • Self-organized
  • Ability to multi-task in fast-paced dynamic environment

Package & Remuneration

Basic salar y R14,000 - R28,000 CTC per month dependent on experience
