OB/GYN Associates of Erie's laboratory is a moderate sized private laboratory that offers our OB/GYN and Primary Care patients moderate and high complexity laboratory services. The laboratory on Peach street receives samples drawn and collected from our main office and network of 5 satellite offices in Erie, Titusville and Corry, PA and Ashtabula, OH. Our dedicated Laboratory team consists of 11 Phlebotomists and 5 Technologists who strive to provide the most efficient and highest quality medical laboratory services to our patients in the communities that we serve.

 

OB/GYN Associates is searching for an energetic, self-motivated Medical Laboratory Scientist MLS/MT/MLT to join our dedicated laboratory team.

  • Sign on bonus of up to $6,000 for certified individuals
  • Full-Time
  • 40 hours/week
  • Monday – Friday 9-530 PM
  • No weekends and 6 paid Holidays

Job responsibilities and duties will include:

  • Hematology
  • Chemistry
  • Immunoassay
  • Molecular testing
  • Urinalysis
  • Microbiology
  • Use and maintain instruments
  • Manage workflow for aliquoting patient specimens and sample accessioning
  • Ensure laboratory equipment is clean, functional, and calibrated
  • Stock and organize laboratory supplies
  • Answer and respond to physician questions and concerns
  • Maintain a safe and clean working environment by adhering to safety procedures and regulations
  • Respect and follow patient confidentiality laws

 

 



Qualifications

Skills and Qualifications:

  • Bachelor of Science in Medical Technology or equivalent education and experience as defined by CLIA for performing moderate or high complexity testing
  • Associates degree in Biology, Chemistry or equivalent education and experience as defined by CLIA
  • Successful MLS, MT or MLT certification within one year of hire
  • Strong analytical and documentation skills
  • Broad knowledge of basic laboratory techniques
  • In-depth understanding of operating practices and polices
  • Comfortable using computer technologies and laboratory equipment
  • Exceptional organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Willingness to work independently as well as part of a team
