Additional Responsibilities:
Must be willing to take responsibility for being “on call” and perform tests on STAT and emergency basis. Be responsible for cross-matching, typing, and all other aspects in the Blood Bank plus have a working knowledge of how to get blood to Scott County Hospital on an emergency basis.
Education, Qualifications, Experience:
ASCP MT or MLT or equivalent
One to two years’ experience in laboratory procedures and instrumentation.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Have a working knowledge of all routine tests performed by Scott County Hospital.
Have a working knowledge of quality control basics.
Be a problem-solving individual.
Equipment:
Must have a working knowledge of all laboratory equipment and be able to perform maintenance and troubleshooting. Must also know how to contact service personnel for help with equipment malfunctions.
Expectation of Service: This is a non-exempt 40-hour-per-week position. Regular and punctual attendance is required.
Physical Requirements: Occasional sitting, frequent standing, walking, bending, stooping, kneeling, lifting/carrying 10-25 pounds; frequent reaching/grasping, twisting, pulling/pushing, frequent exposure to sharp instruments, and frequent exposure to equipment. Working irregular hours.
