Medical Laboratory Technician (MLT)

Schedule

This position offers a night shift from 6:00 PM to 6:30 AM, with a schedule of three 12-hour shifts each week, alternating weekends.

Assignment Duration

This is a 13-week contract position.

Job Description

As a Medical Laboratory Technician, you will perform diagnostic testing on patient samples to aid physicians in the diagnosis and/or monitoring of various disease states. You will follow standardized procedures and help prepare samples for testing, analyzing test results for accuracy, acceptability, and critical limits. The role requires a strong foundation in laboratory practices and knowledge of chemistry, hematology, and blood bank procedures.

Responsibilities

• Perform diagnostic testing on patient samples.
• Follow standardized procedures for preparing samples for testing.
• Analyze test results for accuracy and critical limits.
• Collaborate with physicians and laboratory staff to ensure quality care.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• 1 year of laboratory experience is preferred.
• Associate degree from an accredited Medical Lab Technician program or equivalent is preferred.
• Valid MLT certification through TN State Licensure, ASCP, AMT, AAB, HHS, or equivalent accrediting agency is required.
• TN State license is preferred.
