Medical Laboratory Technician (MLT)

This is a 13-week contract position.

Schedule

Night Shift: 6:00 PM to 6:30 AM, 3x12-hour shifts with alternating weekends. No call or block scheduling.

Job Description

The Medical Laboratory Technician (MLT) will perform diagnostic testing on patient samples to aid physicians in the diagnosis and monitoring of various disease states. This role involves following standardized procedures, preparing samples for testing, and analyzing test results for accuracy, acceptability, and critical limits.

Responsibilities

• Perform diagnostic testing and analysis of patient samples.
• Prepare samples for testing according to standardized procedures.
• Analyze and verify test results for accuracy and compliance with critical limits.
• Maintain quality control throughout the testing process.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• 1 year of laboratory experience preferred, specializing in chemistry, hematology, and blood bank.
• Associate degree from an accredited Medical Lab Technician program or equivalent.
• Valid MLT certification through TN State Licensure, ASCP, AMT, AAB, HHS, or equivalent accrediting agency required. Tennessee State license preferred.
