Job Description

We are seeking a skilled Medical Laboratory Scientist with a focus on blood banking procedures. The ideal candidate will work independently in a laboratory environment, demonstrating experience in various areas of laboratory medicine.

Responsibilities

• Perform a variety of laboratory tests and analyses, particularly related to blood banking.
• Utilize laboratory equipment and instrumentation effectively.
• Ensure proper specimen collection, preparation, and transportation.
• Maintain quality assurance and control standards within the laboratory processes.
• Provide accurate reporting and interpretation of test results.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• Minimum of 2 years of laboratory experience, with a focus on blood bank procedures.
• ASCP certification required; BLS and ASCP-MLS preferred.
• Familiarity with charting systems, preferably Cerner.
• Experience in a community hospital setting preferred.
• Strong skills in handling laboratory equipment and performing various tests.
