Job Description

The Medical Laboratory Technician (MLT) performs analyses in hematology, chemistry, urinalysis, coagulation, blood bank, and microbiology according to expected performance standards. This role includes performing venipuncture, finger stick, or heel stick on identified patients as requested by a physician in a timely, accurate, and caring manner. The MLT keeps documented records current regarding maintenance and quality control, meets lab service goals, and reports any problems to the lab director. Compliance with the Company's Code of Business Conduct and Corporate Compliance Agreement is expected, including monitoring employee performance and addressing compliance issues.

Responsibilities

• Perform laboratory analyses in hematology, chemistry, urinalysis, coagulation, blood bank, and microbiology.
• Conduct venipuncture and other blood draw techniques with care and precision.
• Maintain accurate and up-to-date quality control and maintenance records.
• Address compliance issues promptly and promote adherence to company policies.
• Work collaboratively to meet lab service goals and report problems to lab leadership.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• A minimum of a high school diploma and graduation from a Medical Technician or Clinical Laboratory Science training program approved by ABHES or CAHEA.
• Current ASCP certification (must be included with application).
• Current BLS certification through the American Heart Association (must be included with application).
• Experience in Blood Bank / Transfusion Services is required.
