Medical Technologist

Job Description

The Medical Technologist demonstrates critical thinking skills, judgment, and leadership in the practice of laboratory technology. This role is responsible for the efficient planning, directing, and accurate provision of all laboratory testing in the assigned area of licensure, adhering to laboratory policies, procedures, regulatory standards, and recognized testing techniques.

Responsibilities

• Demonstrate critical thinking and leadership in laboratory technology.
• Ensure efficient planning and accurate provision of laboratory testing.
• Adhere to laboratory policies and regulatory standards.
• Perform blood bank, MTS gel, and tube methods.
• Conduct tests using Beckman Coulter hematology instruments and manual differential procedures.
• Operate Werfen Top coagulation instrumentation and execute urine microscopic procedures.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• Must have 5 years of recent experience as a Medical Technologist.
• ASCP certification as a Medical Technologist must be attached to the submission packet.
• BLS certification required, must be through the American Heart Association.
• Experience in blood bank, MTS gel, and tube methods is required.
• Familiarity with Beckman Coulter hematology, manual differential, body fluid cell count, and diff procedures.
• Experience with Werfen Top coagulation instrumentation and urine microscopic procedures.

Schedule

Shifts will be from 1:00 PM to 10:30 PM, working 7 days on and 7 days off.
