Medical Laboratory Scientist - Night Shift

Job Description

The laboratory teams at Samaritan Health Services have responsibilities for testing samples that may include blood, body fluids, and tissue to aid in the diagnosis of diseases, illnesses, or conditions that may need medical attention. Lab tests are processed for hospital inpatients and emergency room patients twenty-four hours a day. In addition, testing is performed on outpatient and clinic specimens. All laboratories are licensed by the U.S. Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services under the Clinical Laboratory Improvement Amendments Act (CLIA) and accredited by the College of American Pathologists (CAP).

Schedule

This position offers a night shift, from 9:00 PM to 7:30 AM, with rotating weekends.

Responsibilities

• Perform laboratory tests on blood, body fluids, and tissue samples.
• Ensure quality control and compliance with regulatory standards.
• Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to ensure the accurate diagnosis and treatment of patients.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• Experience with Epic, Antibody IDs, Emergency blood banking, and Ortho Vitros 5600ASCP.
• Certification as a Medical Laboratory Scientist (MLS) or Medical Laboratory Technician (MLT) through ASCP, AMT, or an equivalent organization.
