Medical Laboratory Scientist / Medical Laboratory Technician - Nights

This position is for night shifts, working from 2100 to 0730, with a rotating weekends schedule.

Job Description

The laboratory teams at Samaritan Health Services are dedicated to testing samples, including blood, body fluids, and tissue, to assist in the diagnosis of diseases and conditions that require medical attention. Laboratory tests are performed for hospital inpatients and emergency room patients around the clock, as well as for outpatient and clinic specimens. All laboratories are licensed by the U.S. Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services under the Clinical Laboratory Improvement Amendments Act (CLIA) and are accredited by the College of American Pathologists (CAP).

Responsibilities

• Perform laboratory tests on a variety of samples to aid in diagnosis.
• Process tests for hospital inpatients and emergency room patients consistently throughout the day.
• Conduct testing for outpatient and clinic specimens.
• Ensure compliance with laboratory standards and regulations.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• Bachelor's degree as a Medical Laboratory Scientist or Associate degree as a Medical Laboratory Technician is required.
• Certification from ASCP, AMT, or an equivalent certifying body.
• Experience with Epic, Antibody IDs, Emergency blood banking, and Ortho Vitros 5600 is preferred.

Assignment Duration

This is a 13-week contract position.
