Job Description

We are seeking an experienced Medical Lab Scientist (MLS/MT) traveler for a weekend night shift assignment. This role performs a broad range of laboratory testing across multiple disciplines, including hematology, chemistry, microbiology, blood bank, urinalysis, coagulation, and serology. The MLS will work independently during night shifts, ensuring accurate and timely results to support patient care in a Critical Access Hospital setting.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine and complex laboratory testing across all core lab departments.
• Analyze, verify, and report test results, including critical values.
• Perform phlebotomy and specimen processing as needed.
• Maintain and troubleshoot laboratory instrumentation.
• Perform and document quality control procedures.
• Utilize Laboratory Information System (LIS) for documentation and reporting.
• Maintain compliance with all regulatory and safety standards.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• Degree in Medical Laboratory Science or related field with completed clinical training.
• Minimum 2+ years of recent hospital laboratory experience required.
• Strong generalist experience required.
• Previous Critical Access Hospital experience preferred.
• Cerner EHR experience required.
• ASCP (MLS/MT) or AMT certification required.
• AHA BLS certification required.
• Ability to work independently on night shifts.
• Strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills.
• Experience across multiple lab disciplines.
• Comfortable in a fast-paced, rural hospital setting.
