JOB SUMMARY:
To evaluate and diagnose students at risk for communication, fine/gross motor, sensory, hearing & visual disorders, and to provide direct service to students as required by IEPs.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Implements all aspects of child Find: referring, screening, evaluating, diagnosing and recommending intervention strategies for referred students
- Completes all assessments, including written report within timelines mandated by IDEA
- Completes all progress reports within timelines mandated by IDEA
- Maintains written records of service delivery for all students
- Consults with administration, staff and families regarding interventions and strategies for identified students
- Participates and reports evaluation results to IEP eligibility meetings
- Observes students in their learning environments, as requested
- Participates in Professional Development opportunities and stays current with evaluation instruments
- Consult with other professionals, as needed
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Massachusetts certification for Speech & Language therapist or Professional state licensure, as appropriate
- Master's degree required
- Three years' experience working within a school/clinical setting
- Knowledge of IDEA regulations
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
COMPENSATION:
$54,373.00 - $93,870.00, commensurate with education and experience
