This is a 13-week contract position.

Schedule

Day shift, Monday to Friday, 6:00 AM to 2:30 PM, with occasional weekend requirements and holiday rotation.

Job Description

The Histology Technician, under direct supervision, performs routine and complex histologic procedures, including processing, embedding, microtomy, routine and special stains, and immunohistochemistry. Responsibilities also include performing quality control on completed slides, identifying issues that may affect diagnoses and results, and documenting maintenance of instruments and equipment used in the lab.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine and complex histologic procedures.
• Process, embed, and cut tissue samples using microtomy.
• Conduct routine and special staining procedures, including immunohistochemistry.
• Maintain and calibrate laboratory instruments and equipment.
• Document and record observations from tests and ensure quality control.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• 3-5 years of full-time experience as a Histology Technician.
• Experience with embedding and microtomy skills.
• BLS certification required.
• HT(ASCP) or HTL(ASCP) certification is mandatory.
• Bachelor's degree in histotechnology, biology, or a related scientific discipline is preferred.
